Thailand's capital, Bangkok, is a sizable metropolis renowned for its elaborate shrines and lively street culture. Its network of canals is fed by the boat-filled Chao Phraya River, which flows past the royal neighborhood of Rattanakosin, which is home to the magnificent Grand Palace and the revered Wat Phra Kaew Temple. Close by is the massive Buddha in a reclining pose at Wat Pho Temple, while across the water, Wat Arun Temple boasts a spire shaped like a Khmer temple with steep steps.
 
Phuket
The capital of Thailand's Phuket Province is Phuket City, which is located on Phuket Island. Sino-Portuguese and colorful 19th-century shophouses line Thalang Road in the Old Town. The Baan Chinpracha home, which was constructed in 1903 by a wealthy tin dealer, features Italian floor tiles, shuttered windows, and antique furnishings. With displays about Phuket's history and culture, the Thai Hua Museum is housed in a manor from the 1930s.
 
Khao Lak
Khao Lak is a group of villages in Phang Nga Province, Thailand, mostly in the Takua Pa District and also partially in the Thai Mueang District. These days, the villages are popular with tourists. "Main Mountain" is how the name "Khao Lak" is literally rendered.
